Leading the organization’s efforts to identify risks, develop business continuity strategies, and ensure the operational resilience of critical business functions. This individual will be responsible for managing business continuity programs across the organization, including disaster recovery, crisis management, risk mitigation, and continuity planning
Managing the workflow within the department including project work and plan review
Overseeing multiple projects in development, implementation and evaluation of emergency management system including healthcare disaster preparedness at Boston Children’s Hospital
Overseeing the annual Hazardous Vulnerability Analysis (HVA) process for all licensed Boston Children’s Hospital sites
Supporting the Hospital Incident Command System (HICS), including regular incident command drills, training staff, incident response
Serving as liaison for city and regional emergency preparedness forums, including the Conference of Boston Teaching Hospitals (COBTH), Longwood Medical Area (LMA)/Medical Academic and Scientific Community Organization (MASCO), and Boston Healthcare Preparedness Coalition
Facilitating the formal post-event debrief process and the creation of After Actions Reports. Overseeing completion of all action items identified in formal debrief process
Developing on call schedule
The organizations downtime and business continuity program
To qualify, you must have:
A minimum of 4 years of experience in Emergency Management or a related field is required
A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Public Policy, Political Science, Business Administration or related field is required. Master’s degree preferred
Demonstrated experience in Project Management, or in planning, implementing and coordinating complex events
Professional experience in Grant Writing or Grant Administration is considered a plus
The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Excellent organizational skills, and a strong ability to problem solve
The strong leadership, interpersonal and consensus building skills needed to work well in a team environment, plus the maturity and the decision-making experience to function well independently
