Job Title: Quality TechnicianJob Description

This position involves assisting in the daily production of products, supporting continuous improvement on the shop floor, managing SCAR (supplier NCR) and NCR linked to the scope of activities, and ensuring compliance with ISO & FDA standards related to Manufacturing Quality activities. The Manufacturing QA Technician partners with Manufacturing QEs to support Quality Inspectors (QAR) in daily activities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist production teams to achieve quality objectives set by production or group managers.

  • Support the implementation of LEAP principles throughout the organization, including participation in PSM or LEAP workshops.

  • Represent QA and report KPIs during daily cross-functional PSM2 meetings.

  • Investigate NCRs linked to the shop floor or suppliers, respecting defined due dates and using problem-solving tools as part of a cross-functional team.

  • Interface with suppliers in case of SCAR and with customers in case of complaints based on experience.

  • Ensure QA Inspectors (QAR) are properly trained and that documentation is accurate, escalating issues to QE or QA Manager as needed.

  • Perform visual inspections, including using vision systems, CMM, and microscopes, depending on floor bandwidth.

  • Create and maintain updated work instructions, inspection plans, and inspection work instructions, ensuring compliance with quality requirements and standards.

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of experience in quality assurance and quality control in the medical device industry.

  • Proficiency in Non-conformance Reporting (NCR).

  • Advanced knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Technical quality troubleshooting skills for both product and process.

  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies, ISO, and FDA compliance.

  • Proficiency with ERP systems.

  • Experience with manufacturing processes and equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Support Manufacturing QEs in common activities or investigations.

  • Train employees in the proper use of automated inspection equipment and documentation.

  • Perform basic maintenance of inspection equipment.

  • Support and troubleshoot production programs.

  • Advanced blueprint reading skills.

  • Competency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel).

  • Technical writing skills.

  • Experience in an ISO:2016 certified system.

  • Understanding of manufacturing fixturing and tooling.

  • Experience with inspection equipment and maintenance.

  • Experience with Calypso.

  • Experience with 2D and 3D CAD (Solidworks).

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean manufacturing facility. The standard working hours are Monday to Thursday, 10-hour days, and 5.5 hours on Fridays. The facility has seen significant growth, including a 50,000 sq. ft. expansion and the addition of new robotics and automation lines. The company fosters a family-first culture with flexible start times and offers guaranteed weekly overtime pay at 1.5 times the regular rate.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $68640.00 - $76960.00/yr.
