Alliance Defending Freedom is looking for a highly motivated unpaid Media Communications Intern to join is in our Washington, DC Office preferred or from a remote home office to receive school credit. As the Media Communications Intern, you are a vital part of the Media & Advocacy Communications team. In this role, you will report to the Director of Media Relations and will be tasked with assisting the Media Specialists, attending media training sessions with attorneys and clients, and having the opportunity to write pitches. The intern will also assist in other public relations projects and events. This internship provides a great introduction to the public relations world for someone who is considering exploring a career in public relations, policy, or law.
Key Responsibilities
Media Training & Support: Attend media training sessions with attorneys and clients, assisting in preparation for interviews and public appearances.
Media Outreach & Pitching: Draft media pitches, research relevant articles for pitching opportunities, and assist in building press lists to expand media engagement.
Media Tracking & Reporting: Track interviews, compile media reports, and summarize key news stories to keep the team informed of coverage and trends.
Press Materials & Resources: Assist in creating media kits and drafting press statements, ensuring consistency and accuracy in messaging.
News Monitoring & Coordination: Monitor the media inbox, track the news cycle for relevant updates, and help schedule media meetings and interviews.
Minimum Qualifications
Current college student interested in journalism, media, or communications work
Must receive college credit for the internship
