Job Title: Data Science Intern

Location: Memphis, TN

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Data Science Intern for a six-month internship. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analysis, reporting development, and data-driven decision-making. As a Data Science Intern, you will work closely with our Global Sourcing team to support and impact decision making on various projects and initiatives through improved analytics. The candidate will be required to report on-site at Sylvamo Headquarters.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in collecting, cleaning, and preprocessing data from various sources.

• Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover insights and trends.

• Collaborate with team members to design and execute data-driven experiments.

• Create visualizations and reports to communicate findings to stakeholders.

• Develop and implement machine learning models and algorithms.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, or a related field.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.

• Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Power BI).

• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

• Senior or Graduate Level candidate preferred
