Job Overview
Reports to: Lead, Technical Service
Shift: 14x14, 12 hours per day
Location: Labrador City, NL
Travel: up to 25% travel required for this role
Allowances: Additional premiums and allowances are associated with this position due to location
Safety Sensitive:Yes- Drug & Alcohol testing, Physical Demand Fit testing, RCMP Criminal Record Check and submission of 5 year Provincial driving record will be required
Relocation: This position does not offer relocation
Key Job Responsibilities
Be available for equipment builds, commissioning stage, and follow-up repair and service
Provide technical support to our product lines on customers’ sites
Research and troubleshoot technical issues
Apply hydraulic, mechanical and electrical knowledge to equipment issues
Maintain customer database
Interface current field issues with our product support group to assist, rectify and improve repetitive or critical issues
Willingness to work overtime when required
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Adjust, repair or replace all defective equipment parts, components or systems at customer sites
Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
Red Seal Journeyperson Electrical or Mechanical certification required; dual ticket preferred
Minimum 4-8 years related experience in m aintenance, repair, service and inspection of mining equipment
Must be fluent in both English and French
Must be able to safely lift 50lbs unassisted
Experience in the repair and maintenance of LeTourneau products is an asset
Understand the operation and function of mining loaders and be capable of accurately diagnosing problems
Experience troubleshooting mining machines while working in an outdoor environment
Demonstrated electrical and/or mechanical proficiency on high voltage electrical equipment
Experience in testing the repaired equipment for proper performance
Superior customer service skills and communication skills are required
Basic knowledge of Can Buss communication network an asset
Solid track record in dealing with customers in a technical role
Adjust, repair or replace all defective equipment parts, components or systems at customer sites
Ability to document and report machine issues in a timely and accurate manner
Able to maintain a safe and clean work environment
Must be able to work with minimal supervision but also participate in the work of other mechanical and electrical journeymen and apprentices within the field environment
Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
