Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
We are looking for a Mechanical Assembler to work in a clean shop, putting in 50+ hours a week starting at 5AM. The role involves working in various departments, learning the assembly and build process from start to finish. Candidates should have mechanical aptitude and the ability to read a tape measure to perform basic jobs. Job assignments will depend on experience or schooling, which will determine the initial department placement.
Responsibilities
Clean, break down, repair, and assemble furnaces/coils.
Use a chisel and hammer to break apart cement from the coil.
Use hand and power tools to disassemble units by removing nuts, bolts, and supports.
Assemble coils by attaching supports, sandblasting, applying epoxy or adhesive for insulation, and wrapping the coil with mesh material or tape.
Stand for the entire shift, performing labor-intensive tasks.
Learn and perform brazing and soldering as needed.
Essential Skills
Strong mechanical aptitude
Ability to perform repetitive labor duties
Required to stand for the entire shift
Aptitude to train and willingness to learn on the job
Desire to advance in the role and take initiative
Basic math skills, including adding and subtracting fractions
Experience with power tools, saws, hand tools, screw guns, etc.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Brazing and soldering skills (can be taught)
Preferred experience in shop or manufacturing environments
Experience in heavy industrial manufacturing plants or technical schooling/training
Skills in automotive, HVAC, carpentry, industrial painting, sandblasting, powder coating, panel building, wire assembly, fabrication, plumbing, TIG welding, and pipefitting
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
