Job Description
Lake Superior College is hiring a Full-Time, Fixed-Term faculty in the Automotive Services Technology department, reporting directly to the Dean of Business and Industry. The duration of the appointment is two (2) academic years with the possibility of extending it for a maximum of three (3) years.
The Automotive Services Technology instructor is responsible to apply their expertise to develop and deliver courses/programs so that students learn and reach their academic goals. The instructor is responsible for preparing and teaching core Automotive Service courses that students complete as part of their required program. Courses will be taught in a face-to-face.
Responsibilities:
Serving as faculty for our on-ground and online coursework
Curriculum and teaching materials development
Assessment activities at the instructor, course, department, and institutional level
Minimum Qualifications
Educational Requirement
- Post-secondary diploma or equivalent certificate in automotive services technology.
Occupational Experience Requirement
- Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in automotive services technology.
Recency Requirement
- One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) post-secondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Professional Requirement
- Current ASE certification in the areas on which the faculty member is teaching.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience in automotive services technology.
Salary Range: $50,475 - $73,690 per year
* The above salary range is for initial placement only. If currently teaching within Minnesota State, current salary will remain the same.*
