Position: Front Desk Attendant - Per Diem

Program: Leona Blanche House

Salary: $18.92 per hour

Program Description:

Leona Blanche House is an OMH licensed transitional residence that provides housing and rehabilitative support services to 53 formerly homeless, chronically mentally ill singe adults, some of whom have co-occurring substance abuse disorders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential duties of the Front Desk Attendant include but are not limited to the following activities for Leona Blanche House and Bronx Supported Housing:

• Provides crisis intervention to ensure the safety of residents.

• Monitor and announce all visitors’ entries into the residence.

• Maintain an assortment of logbooks to record entry and exit from the building of all residents, guests, contractors, and other visitors.

• Answer the telephone, take messages, and transfer calls as appropriate.

• Receive mail and other deliveries.

• Report all concerning incidents to the designated on-site or on-call supervisor.

• Document use of EMS, NYPD, and FDNY services

• Respond to all building evacuation incidents (fire, smoke, or CO alarms) and coordinate efforts with other staff members to assure resident safety.

• Record activity either directly observed or observed over the camera security system.

  Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Experience working with adults with mental illness and substance use issues preferred.
