This Position is for an Instructor in Composition and Rhetoric (Writing & Rhetoric) with a public university work location in University, MS.
Position Description
The Department of Writing & Rhetoric (DWR) at the University of Mississippi seeks applicants for an Instructor of Composition and Rhetoric. This 9-month teaching position carries a 4/4 teaching load with service responsibilities and starts 21 August 2025. This is a renewable position with benefits. Instructors are non-tenure track faculty with opportunities for promotion to Lecturer and Senior Lecturer as defined by the department's Instructor Promotion Policy. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds. The DWR supports and cultivates student-centered learning while encouraging collective pedagogical approaches from faculty.
Job Responsibilities
Teaching first-year courses, including Writing 101 and 102;
Participating in the ongoing evaluation and revision of curricula;
Contributing to a professional development community within the DWR;
Contributing to distributed assignment, course, and program assessments;
Serving the department, as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have completed a master's degree in composition, rhetoric, or a related field by the hiring date.
