How Is This Role Important to Our Work? This position applies broad actuarial principles to develop solutions to variable situations in the areas of health and life insurance. Independent analysis and problem resolution are often required. Presents results of analysis and recommendations to management and other departments. Provide divisional representation or lead role on corporate projects. Actuarial judgement is required. A Day in the Life: Research, analyze and interpret Medicare Advantage actuarial and statistical data. Provide technical assistance to other departments, estimating impacts and recommending solutions. Update, maintain, and improve existing pricing and forecasting models to support the Medicare Advantage Part C product. Coordinate inclusion of Medicare Advantage Part D pricing models. Make suggestions to amend or develop products and processes to maintain product viability and financial soundness as a result of analyzing claims, revenue and/or other relevant data. Develop mathematical models in connection with other departments (e.g. Network, Risk Adjustment, Compliancs) to predict impact of proposed changes for Medicare Advantage. Responsible for divisional representation on corporate projects and may have leadership roles on these teams. Independently manage, which may include directing other staff, the retrieval and analysis of data on multiple tasks or projects. Act as a resource for other members of the department/division on business issues and may be responsible for training and guidance of Actuarial support personnel or Analysts. Makes satisfactory progress according to the Actuarial Student Program guidelines. Other specific accountabilities as assigned by management. Nice to Have: Bachelor's degree. Required Skills and Experiences: 3+ years of related professional experience. All relevant experience including work, education, transferable skills, and military experience will be considered. Actuarial Exams plus VEE requirements-ASA. Strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent PC skills Knowledge of data retrieval languages. Knowledge of BCBSMs databases or industry knowledge. Compensation and Benefits: Pay Range: $88,600.00 - $117,400.00 - $146,200.00 Annual Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position, including skills, ability, and knowledge the selected individual is bringing to the specific job.
