Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician

Job Description

An industrial maintenance technician is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and equipment in a manufacturing setting. The role involves ensuring smooth operation by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and making necessary adjustments and calibrations to keep machines functioning optimally. This often involves reading technical manuals, interpreting blueprints, and utilizing mechanical and electrical skills to diagnose and fix issues.

Responsibilities

• Regularly inspecting and servicing machinery according to established schedules to identify potential issues before they become major problems.

• Diagnosing malfunctions on industrial equipment, disassembling components, replacing faulty parts, and reassembling machines to restore functionality.

• Installing new machinery and equipment, including aligning, leveling, and connecting necessary utilities.

• Reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, electrical schematics, and work orders to understand equipment operation and maintenance procedures.

• Adjusting and calibrating machinery to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.

• Adhering to all safety regulations and procedures while working on industrial equipment.

• Maintaining detailed logs of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used.

Essential Skills

• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including gears, bearings, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

• Basic electrical troubleshooting skills, including reading electrical schematics and working with electrical systems.

• Ability to use a variety of hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.

• Analytical ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues and find effective solutions.

• Capability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

• Physical fitness to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing setting.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment

This role is based in a climate-controlled fabrication shop with over 50 employees. You will be working in various industrial settings, including manufacturing plants, industrial facilities, power plants, and construction sites.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mobile, Alabama.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
