The Intermediate Level Accountant will assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. This role supports the Controller in preparing accurate and timely financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. The accountant will assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support management decision-making, oversee the reconciliation of bank accounts, and monitor cash flow. Collaboration with project managers and other departments is essential to ensure accurate project cost accounting and reporting. The accountant will also assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and financial policies to safeguard company assets, manage the preparation of audit work papers, and coordinate with external auditors during annual audits. Additionally, the role involves providing support in the preparation of tax returns and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, contributing to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and systems, mentoring and training accounting staff, and performing financial analysis and reporting as requested by management.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Construction experience is highly preferred due to the industry.
Experience with job costing for 15-20 active projects averaging $8-10M, occasionally up to $40M.
Sales forecasting and projections.
Utilities experience within the construction space (e.g., Taft electric).
Experience in residential, commercial, and civil construction.
Proficiency with ERP systems such as Vista by Viewpoint or similar (medium to large).
Strong GAAP experience.
3-5 years of accounting experience.
Open to project accountants or accounting supervisors/managers ready for next steps.
Will work side by side with the Accounting Manager and AP Manager.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
