Job Summary:
The Project Specialist role is an entry-level project administration position within Strategic Projects-a dynamic and innovative internal consulting team for Compass Group North America. The role of the Project Specialist offers an outstanding opportunity to gain exposure supporting a team through the completion of various projects and activities across the Strategic Projects department. The ideal candidate is self-motivated with excellent communication, organization and analytical skills. A positive attitude and the ability to adapt in ever-changing environments will facilitate an experience that comes with extensive growth potential.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate and support Strategic Projects-related department activities that enable the team to perform at the highest potential
Create and maintain all project documentation pertinent to assignments, including but not limited to, status reports, work plans, presentations
Coordinate, attend, and record meetings
Maintain professionalism in varying environments, tasks, and responsibilities, and with various types of people
Document and analyze information and processes to help solve critical business issues
Coordinate (directly and indirectly) teams to meet the resource needs required of each project or assignment
Coordinate activities between team members, while improving their efficiency to achieve project goals
Build internal and external business relationships vital to the success of the project
Understand team dynamics and adapt as needed to ensure success
Seek opportunities for improvement and make recommendations for change; identify flaws in logic or assumption errors
Update job knowledge by participating in informative opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required
1-3 years corporate workplace experience preferred
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Demonstrated ability leading large initiatives and teams
Strong ability to coordinate with internal and external resources in highly matrixed environments
Solid track record of managing competing priorities with a positive, can-do attitude
Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a fast paced environment
Strong organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn other project software programs
Travel as needed (approximately 10%)
