In this position, employees will work in a variety of positions on the finishing line producing joint compound.
The Floater will be expected to gain competency in a new position every 6 months until competency is achieved in ALL of the 6 positions: Mixer operator, Line Lead, Calcine operator, Knife operator, Paper operator, and SFX operator. These are the only positions included in this pay progression.
An operator must know ONE of the above jobs and provide a completely signed off Training Sheet as evidence of competency.-
Quality Inspections – Board Quality Standards from Mixer to Knife
Knowledge of how to perform test methods and quality checks
Ability and willingness to adhere to all Job Procedures (Duty Sheets, SOPs, Testing Schedule)
Housekeeping owner for the area
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work with other shifts to coordinate project details to ensure timelines are met.
High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Ability to work in a team-based environment with little to no supervision
Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing
Knowledge of Company policies, practices and procedures
Forklift Certification preferred
