Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical or electrical issues, and conducting machine repairs in an industrial bakery environment. The candidate must be familiar with equipment such as conveyors, pumps, motors, industrial electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics. This role requires at least 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent degree, along with a willingness to learn, share, and apply knowledge.
Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal operation.
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in a timely manner.
Conduct repairs on machinery, including conveyors, pumps, motors, and other industrial equipment.
Read and interpret electrical schematics to effectively address electrical problems.
Work on various systems, including hydraulics and pneumatics.
Address facilities maintenance issues as needed.
Essential Skills
Electrical Troubleshooting
Mechanical Troubleshooting
Equipment Maintenance
Reading and interpreting schematics
Experience with VFDs, PLCs, and 480v electrical systems
Familiarity with GMP standards
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School diploma or GED
Must have 2+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience (preferably in food/beverage industry, but any industry is acceptable)
Ability to work in a hot and cold non-climate controlled environment
Experience with food manufacturing and conveyor systems is a plus

Work Environment
The work environment is an industrial bakery that handles products for various high-profile clients. It is a non-climate controlled facility, requiring flexibility to work in hot and cold conditions as needed. The plant can become dirty due to the manufacturing process and ingredients used. Employees will work across different shifts, including 1st shift (5:00am - 2:00pm), 2nd shift (12:00pm - 10:30pm), and 3rd shift (10:00pm - 7:00am), and will report to the plant and maintenance managers.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
