About the Role

As the Technical Services Training and Compliance Manager , you will lead the way in ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational efficiency across our rides and attractions. With a focus on ride-related maintenance, you will manage a team of three direct reports while developing and implementing comprehensive engineering, safety, and training strategies. Your work will be essential in maintaining the integrity of our operations and delivering world-class service to our guests.

Role Responsibilities

In this leadership role, you will be responsible for:

  • Compliance Management : Lead strategic initiatives to ensure ride safety and maintenance processes comply with internal standards, ride manufacturers' OEMs, and third-party requirements.

  • Audit & Review : Conduct regular audits of preventative and reactive maintenance activities to ensure adherence to industry best practices and safety standards.

  • Risk Assessments : Oversee and review maintenance-related risk assessments in line with company policies, ensuring all are robust and of suitable quality.

  • System & Process Development : Develop and revise standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safe systems of work for maintenance operations, ensuring adherence to industry regulations.

  • Training & Development : Oversee the implementation of effective training programs for maintenance personnel, covering ride-specific maintenance tasks as well as general health and safety protocols (e.g., work at height, manual handling, lifting equipment operation).

  • Maintenance Oversight : Manage both preventative and reactive maintenance processes, ensuring all work is completed and documented to a satisfactory standard.

  • Collaboration : Liaise with the attraction and corporate health and safety teams to ensure alignment with safety management policies.

  • Technical Duty Management : Act as the Technical Duty Manager as needed, overseeing safety and operational issues.

  • Annual/Winter Maintenance : Assist in planning and executing the annual/winter maintenance programs, focusing on safety and engineering-related concerns.

  • Health & Safety Ethic : Promote a strong health and safety culture within the maintenance team, ensuring quick identification and resolution of hazards.

  • Statutory Inspections : Manage statutory inspection processes, including record-keeping, action management, and ensuring compliance with timelines and regulatory requirements.

  • System Management : Oversee the HEXAGON EAM system and manage technician qualifications to ensure compliance with work around the park.

  • Technical Expertise : Background in maintenance operations, ride safety, and compliance management, with a solid understanding of technical processes.

  • Attention to Detail : A keen eye for detail, especially when managing safety, compliance, and risk assessments.

  • Communication Skills : Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all departments.

  • Physical Stamina : Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, with the ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Flexibility : Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, with flexibility around peak and non-peak times.
