Job Title: Industrial Electrician

Job Description

As an Industrial Electrician, you will spend 90% of your day repairing breakdowns or troubleshooting manufacturing equipment such as CNC machines, heat treat equipment, and grinders. You will be responsible for repairing existing machines by reading ladder logic and programming small changes into PLCs. This role does not involve installing new equipment or running conduit.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment, including CNC machines, heat treat equipment, and grinders.

• Use PLC ladder logic to diagnose and fix electrical issues.

• Read and understand machine schematics to locate and repair electrical problems.

• Work with motor controls, including 3-phase and single-phase motors.

• Perform electrical repairs by referring to blueprints and schematics.

Essential Skills

• Strong ability to use PLC ladder logic for troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.

• Proficiency in reading and understanding machine schematics.

• Experience with motor controls, including 3-phase and single-phase motors.

• Experience repairing electrical breakdowns in a production environment.

• Basic computer skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an electrician in a production environment (not construction).

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds.

• Willingness to work in both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned environments.

• Ability to walk and stand for 90% of the day.

• Self-motivated with the ability to manage tasks independently.

• Strong customer interaction skills.

Work Environment

The work schedule is from 6 AM to 6 PM, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The environment involves walking or standing for most of the day, and some areas of the shop are not air-conditioned. The job may involve getting dirty, so comfort with working in a hands-on, sometimes dirty environment is necessary.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tempe, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
