Acting in partnership with our clients, Beardsley’s highly skilled staff delivers quality projects while promoting community and environmental benefits.Since our founding in 1898, Beardsley has provided comprehensive design services for multiple markets including federal, state and local governments, higher education, commercial office and retail environments, housing, and custom residential projects.We are currently seeking an Sr. Architect with architectural project experience in a professional office environment of 10 years or more. This individual should have applied knowledge of Revit design software to join our Team in our Albany, NY office. The desired candidate will have experience in Project Management, Architectural design, programming, sketching, and project design coordination. Candidates must be able to work collaboratively to prepare clear, complete, and accurate drawings, specifications and other project documents utilizing knowledge of architectural drafting practices, BIM technology, building materials, equipment, construction technology, and mathematics. We are looking for a team member with the following minimum qualifications:A first professional degree in Architecture (B-Arch or M-Arch) from a four or five-year college with an accredited program for licensure, or a non-professional degree in Architecture (BS in Architecture) from a four-year college.A minimum of ten (10) years of experience working for an architectural design firm is required.Knowledge and proficiency with Revit software to develop architectural designs is required.Strong graphic skills are required, with hand drawing/sketching a plus.Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.Experience in commercial, housing, and custom residential markets is preferred. Applicants shall be a US Citizen and security background checks may be necessary based on client requirements. Responsibilities of the position are expected to include:Consulting with Clients to determine objectives and resources of the project. Developing the project architectural design in specific regard to the scope of work, budget and schedule.Performing detailed documentation and observations of existing project conditions.Developing Revit models using existing documentation, plans, and surveys.Integrating Environmental performance metrics into the design process.Utilizing Revit and CADD software to create plans, details, schedules, and other Contract Documents.Overseeing selection of materials, equipment, colors and other components of the project.Overseeing code analysis and compliance of the project design.Developing project specifications and estimates.Reviewing construction period submittals.Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Building Codes and design standards.Enrolling and participating locally in American Institute of Architects or allied professional organizations as appropriate.Beardsley offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including 401K with employer match, health insurance, and continuing education reimbursements.
