Position Overview:
This position will play a key role in supporting the local philanthropy teams with their communications, proposal writing, and stewardship needs. This position will work closely with regional teams to develop tailored materials, ensuring alignment with both organizational and donor priorities including compelling proposals, stewardship materials, emails, and other collateral. The ideal candidate is a confident and experienced writer, capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail. This position also requires a strong understanding of fundraising practices and a deep expertise in specific areas of philanthropy.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Manages a portfolio of projects, setting personal priorities to ensure
completion of high-quality work on deadline
- Researches a range of topics in healthcare and synthesizes relevant
information from multiple sources.
- Ensures accuracy, consistency, and adherence to Sutter Health style
guidelines for all fundraising collateral
- Ensures adherence with philanthropy communications strategies identified by
Philanthropy and Communications leadership
- Identifies and implements best practices in donor communications and
solicitation as relevant to the assigned team
This is a work from home role with some onsite requirements. The successful candidate will live within the Sutter footprint.

EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
- Bachelor's in Business, Healthcare, Public Administration, or Marketing/Communications
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years recent relevant experience
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of the principles of fundraising and demonstrated familiarity with cultivating, soliciting and stewarding prospects and donors.
Excellent writing, editorial and communications skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple projects, deal with multiple constituencies and the ability to develop new, relevant technology skills when needed.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and management skills; capable of working both independently and as a team member; results-oriented; self-starter. Ability to handle many projects and issues simultaneously.
Content area knowledge and expertise relevant to the assigned team(s)
Ability to adapt writing style to reflect donors’ interests and relationships with Sutter Health
Ability to effectively work with Philanthropy and other colleagues.

Pay Range is $40.25 to $60.38 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
