Position Overview
BGB is a leading marketing agency. We are committed to excellence, innovation, and growth, and we are seeking a highly skilled VP Revenue/Business Partner to join our finance team and help drive our continued success.
The VP Revenue/Business Partner will be a subject matter expert providing clear revenue recognition guidance and will manage all revenue accounting activities for BGB whilst also acting as the Finance Business Partner to key business leaders to drive profitable growth. This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our revenue records, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the development of effective revenue controls and strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project accounting, financial management, and be able to demonstrate working in close collaboration with non-finance teams.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a hybrid position requiring onsite collaboration. The role will be based out of our office located in New York City. All candidates must willing to commute into the office on a regular basis.
Role Requirements:
Revenue Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely revenue reports and analyses to senior management including key revenue variances, by client and brand, against forecast and prior year. Generate weekly revenue flash reports and identify risks and mitigating actions to drive business growth.
Revenue Controls: Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal controls and financial processes for revenue recognition and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Audit Management: Coordinate and liaise with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process. Implement recommendations to address any audit findings relating to revenue recognition.
System Improvements: Evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities. Support system enhancements, including BI Reporting tools and integrated Sales and Project Management systems.
Business Partner: Build strong relationships with senior leaders and their teams to provide commercial support, analytics and insights to drive business strategies. Support business case preparation for proposed future investments.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
RFP and New Business Support: Work closely with other departments, including Account, PM and operations, to propose client rate cards that deliver profitable agency contracts.
Merger & Acquisition Integration: Acting as a key member of the integration team ensures a timely and efficient integration of acquired businesses into the BGB systems and processes.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA designation preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of GAAP, including ASC606.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Knowledge of commercial contracts, order forms, legal, and pricing
Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Personal Attributes: Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and able to work across multiple time zones. High level of integrity, organized with a strong attention to detail working in a proactive manner with a commitment to accuracy whilst managing critical deadlines. Strong team player and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
