*Job Summary: * The purpose of a technical assistant in KRESA CTE/EFE Programming is to support the success and growth of students who are identified as Special Populations.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities/Cafeteria Supervisor:*
- Support student success by assisting them individually or in small groups
- Assist the teacher in the implementation of IEP or 504 Accommodations as needed
- Promote the mental, physical, social, and emotional well-being of all students
- Encourage identified students to develop professional skills through good attendance, positive behavior and academic skill attainment
- Complete a monthly report of attendance and academic progress and supports provided for each special populations' student
- Complete all forms necessary to the special populations project by the deadline
- Attend meetings and professional development (PD) days pertaining to the special populations' project
- Perform other functions as required by the special populations project and specified through the Student Services Coordinator
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Regular and consistent attendance
- Must have knowledge of and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the Portage Public Schools Handbook
Technical Assistants Do
Work directly with students
Assist the instructor during lessons by helping students that may have difficulty in understanding and/or keeping up with the class
Assist the instructor by working with individuals or small groups of students on follow-up activities assigned by the instructor
Reinforce the teacher's instruction by giving review and practice activities for individuals or small groups
Work under the direct supervision of the regular instructor
Relate well with students and staff
Assist substitute instructor when the need arises
