Civil Service Title: Grant Program Coordinator Jurisdictional Class: Competitive Civil Division: District Attorney's Office Adoption: CSM 11/12/14 Revised: CSM 7/18/23 DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Under the supervision of the District Attorney, has responsibility to implement the goals and objectives of the Cayuga County Crimes Against Revenue Program (CARP) Grant and Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) Grant to comply with legal reporting requirements to carry out the terms of the grant programs, including computerized database entry and record keeping, as well as subsequent Statistical/data analysis. Oversees the implementation of prevention-based strategies to combat fraud and gun-related violence. Does related tasks as required. TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: (Illustrative Only) Enters, maintains, and updates necessary information in Prosecutors (PCMS) database; Reviews felony and misdemeanor charging documents and supporting documentation of fraud and violent crime cases; Prepares correspondence, documents, records, and other written materials; Enters, maintains, and compiles database in order to prepare reports to the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services for services provided under the CARP and GIVE grants; Compiles relevant statistics on Program goals and objectives and assists the District Attorney in writing the grant application/reports to continue the program for the succeeding fiscal year; Collects and gathers information and data to be used as a basis for reports and memoranda and prepares summaries; Oversees the implementation and coordination of city-wide multi-disciplinary team (APD, CCSO, Probation, DA, DSS) focused on the prevention of fraud and violent crime; Facilitates the monthly GIVE meetings and addresses any barriers preventing the strategy from achieving its desired outcome; Collects and maintains data from law enforcement agencies and DSS; Acts as a liaison with GIVE and CARP initiative partners; Ensures that the monthly meeting minutes and tracker reports are delivered in a timely and accurate manner to DCJS and the multi-disciplinary teams; Acts as a liaison between and multi-disciplinary agencies ; composes and prepares correspondence on behalf of multi-disciplinary team to DCJS. FULL PERFORMANCE KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, ABILITIES PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS: Thorough knowledge of office terminology, procedures and equipment; Good knowledge of the NYS court system and proceedings; Good knowledge of law enforcement agencies and community services; Good skills in organization, typing and maintaining filing systems; Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations, establishing priorities and making decisions; MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma AND: A) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or NYS registered college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field AND five (5) years of experience in law enforcement which will have included grant management and or grant writing; OR B) Graduation from a regionally accredited college or NYS registered college with an Associate's degree in Criminal Justice or related field AND a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in law enforcement which will have included grant management and or grant writing and five (5) years experience as a supervisor or two (2) years of executive management experience; OR
