Would you like to launch your career with one of the most successful logistics organizations worldwide? Here at Kuehne+Nagel, our Durham site is looking for a new Transportation Coordinator to join our Contract Logistics team.
Your Role
The purpose of this position is to ensure planning and scheduling of inbound and outbound transportation that aligns with site schedules and customer demand. To achieve this, the Transfer planner must work with Inbound & Outbound leadership as well as the Production and Control team, customer and transportation service providers to ensure all parties are executing as desired and that each party is accountable for service fulfillment.
Your Responsibilities
Responsible for the daily and weekly planning of transfer orders to and from customer locations
Responsible for the daily and weekly planning of inbound dock request from customer vendors
Coordinate with couriers pick up requirements
Coordinate with couriers and site operations the management of cargo shipments with special request- PMC, Screening,
Various Cool chain shipping products
Track loads and appointment schedules and follow-up with TSP and coordinate with site operations on changes to plans
Ensure adherence to all company transportation regulations, including safety standards and documentation requirements.
Maintaining accurate shipment documentation included but not limited to invoices, bills of lading, and customs paperwork
Communicate frequently with internal / external customers and carriers
Identify and execute continuous improvementopportunities
Your Skills and Experiences
Minimum of 1-3 years related work experience in Supply Chain or Logistics Coordination
Must possess industry knowledge and terminology, strong communication and analytical skills with the ability to quickly analyze problem situations and make fact based decisions
Proficient in Microsoft Office; expertise in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Strong problem solving, decision making, critical thinking, and negotiations skills
Ability to set priorities, achieve deadlines, and manage multiple tasks at the same time in a fast-paced environment
Accuracy and attention to detail
Above-average communication and collaboration skills
Task oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
Thorough understanding of inventory planning, production planning, transportation modes and solutions
Transportation Management System experience strongly preferred
