Nonla Burger is seeking a general manager for our Drake Road location in Kalamazoo. We are looking to find someone who has strong leadership skills, is a good communicator, has an exceptional attitude and can solve problems quickly. They must be able to manage multiple tasks, create a positive work environment with the ability to build strong relationships with staff and customers. The General Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations in the front and back of the house. The position is full-time with expected hours to be 50 per week. The ability to work Friday thru Sunday is required.

Duties

• Lead and manage all aspects of restaurant operations, including staffing, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries and resolving any issues promptly.
• Oversee food handling and safety practices to maintain compliance with health regulations.
• Manage budgets, including cost control measures to maximize profitability.
• Supervise daily shift management, ensuring smooth operations during peak hours.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure quality food preparation and presentation.
• Utilize POS systems for service, tracking sales, inventory management, and reporting.
• Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and employee development.
• Food/Product management and ordering.
• Run restaurant errands as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a leadership/manager role in the food service industry
• 5+ years in the food service industry
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests.
• Knowledge of food handling practices and health regulations.
• Experience in budgeting and financial management within a restaurant setting.
• Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse young team.
• Experience with Point of Sale systems (POS), Excel and Word
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Proven ability to lead and manage a diverse staff, from servers to kitchen staff.
• Culinary experience strongly preferred.
• Food Safety Certification
• Alcohol Service Certification
