Summary You will serve as a TRANSPORTATION SPECIALIST in the Command Services & Program Branch (Code 1141) of the Administrative Services Division (Code 1140), Executive Support Staff (Code 1100) of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF. Responsibilities You will manage operations of the Defense Travel System (DTS), assist with development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and instructions. You will establish and implement command business processes and business rules in alignment with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) and Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Navy (DoN) directives. You will assist with developing command specific travel policies and manages administrative guidelines for processing travel requests and settling travel vouchers. You will interpret and incorporate current travel advisories and regulations, local policies, and practices to ensure conformity with appropriate travel entitlements and authorized expenses and identify potential or suspected fraud, waste, and abuse. You will provide customer support to the command on all TDY related issues. You will assist and coordinate civilian hiring actions for the travel section and recommend selection of candidates to fill positions. You will advise management and travelers of program requirements, travel policies, and procedures to ensure compliance. You will provide guidance to organizational strategic priorities and goals and implement short- and long-term plans to meet the needs of the command. You will develop and/or amend program policy procedures impacting the organization and provide guidance on such issues. You will analyze and evaluate current processes and procedures, working toward eliminating or reducing significant bottlenecks and barriers to production, promote team building, and improve business practices. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-09 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: analyzing government travel regulations and procedures to include utilizing the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) to resolve issues and make recommendations for government travel program compliance.
