Primary Purpose
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Primary Duties
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Tests, calibrates, repairs, and maintains complex mechanical, electrical, electronic, and microprocessor-based instruments and safety equipment, atmospheric and explosive gas monitors, load busters, potential indicators, phasing bells, emergency service transformers, chart recorders.
Maintains and repairs working voltage standards required by Public Service Commission traceable to National Bureau Standards, also high voltage portable and industrial three phase test sets.
Uses reference materials such as technical manuals, blueprints and wiring diagrams.
Various computer programs for tracking, reporting, purchasing, and for tracking repairs, calibrations, and material purchases.
Receives, tests and tags new portable electronic instruments and electric base tools.
Is required to work during emergencies.
Works with Sr. Methods Specialist to approve new Instruments and review working procedures.
Works with other groups to determine life expectancy of equipment.
Sets up testing for all equipment in transformer shop.
May perform other duties as assigned.
May be required to respond to emergency events.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Over two years experience in repair and calibration of portable instruments including satisfactory completion of post-high school courses in electronics, or equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience.
Satisfactory completion of the Technical Occupations Test.
This position is considered a safety-sensitive function and may be subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing
Must be willing and able to work overtime on a regular basis and must be available for callout overtime, if and when required, consistent with the Labor Agreement.
Ability to analyze analog and digital electronic schematics.
Demonstrated ability to make arithmetic calculations with accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to write, speak, read, comprehend and communicate clearly and accurately in the English language.
Working knowledge of personal computer programs.
Working knowledge of DC theory and AC power theory.

Hourly wage will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: USD $38.69/Hr. - USD $47.04/Hr.
