Job Summary and Qualifications
As the Junior Applied Sports Scientist, you will be responsible for data collection and reporting of all daily monitoring activities. You will create macro and micro cycle workload plans with the goal of achieving peak performance and minimizing the risk of overtraining and overuse injuries. You will manage workload progressions for return to play individuals, maintain and inventory all wearable devices, research and validate new wearable technologies, and assist in the execution of performance assessments as needed.
You will be responsible for equipment maintenance as well as data collection, management and reporting
You will oversee daily data collection of training and competition workloads
You will ensure all monitoring data is uploaded to centralized AMS database
You will generate team and individual workload reports based on the latest monitoring data
You will construct coach/practitioner facing dashboards in existing AMS system to provide actionable and timely insights
You will perform statistical analysis to identify trends in monitoring data
You will collect and evaluate recovery data and make recommendations for training load adjustments based on individual response to load
You will research new athlete monitoring tools, perform validation testing on vendor claims, and make recommendations on equipment purchasing
What qualifications you will need:
Experience
1-3 years of experience at a high-performance level in athlete performance monitoring
Experience working with collegiate, professional, and/or elite-level athletes
Experience with collection and interpretation of athlete performance data
Education
- Master’s degree in exercise physiology, kinesiology, sports science or a related field
Licenses and Certifications
Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification
National or International Strength & Conditioning Association certification – preferred
