As Surgery Scheduler, you will ensure all patients are scheduled for their procedures and the required documentation is completed. As soon as the provider puts in the information, you will coordinate everything that the patient needs. You will be part of a supportive caregiver family that encourages you to explore growth opportunities and advanced roles within the Cleveland Clinic enterprise.

A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM - 4:30PM and 8:00AM - 5:00PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Deliver imaging materials to other departments and nursing units as requested.

• Conduct data entry and retrieval of information from the appropriate information systems.

• Maintain adequate supplies in the work area with items necessary to perform the daily schedule and advise a supervisor of any items needed from materials management or vendor.

• Submit ideas for quality or performance improvement for department operations.

• Provide customer service by answering and routing telephone calls.

• Orient new personnel and assist in their transition to the work environment as assigned.

• Aid other associates in the department upon completion of responsible duties or as assigned by a supervisor.

• Attend and participate in monthly department meetings.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma/GED

• Typing speed of 45 WMP

• One to two years of experience in healthcare

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA)

• Medical Terminology and computer background

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent walking, sitting and standing

• Frequent use of the phone, computer and fax machines

• Frequent pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling and crouching

• Working hours may exceed eight hours per day and is based on what is needed to accomplish work at hand

• Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures
