Description
J OB SUMMARY:
- To work under the guidance of other avionics technicians to manufacture, install, functional test aircraft wire bundles. Install and test a wide variety of aircraft communication, navigation, and electrical components. Perform pre and post-flight checks of aircraft and address any discrepancies. Assist Engineering with process improvement, and validation of engineering documents. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate the ability to understand avionics. This includes terminology, basic setup, operation, and practical application of electrical and avionics aircraft systems.With guidance and supervision, perform analysis of routine electrical malfunctions according to standard shop practices using some equipment such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and continuity lights.With assistance, perform minor repair such as replacing wires and connectors on standard electrical components. Including but not limited to, printing wires, bundling wire harnesses, checking wire harness for continuity, and making repairs as needed.With assistance and supervision, remove and install electrical and electronic components as directed. Document work activities in “Velocity”, and tie in system.Ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints.Requires work in tight spaces, extreme temperatures both hot and cold, and may require relocating to different campuses.Complete classroom instruction at WSU Tech, resulting in an associate degree.Responsible only for own work.Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Requires a high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification. QUALIFICATIONS:
No experience required. Electrical assembly experience preferred.
