The Bank of Nova Scotia seeks Director - U.S. Tax Planning, Front Office & IRW Advisory in New York, NY to provide clear, timely, and accurate us tax analysis, risk assessment, and tax planning, consistent with the bank’s reputational risk appetite Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Tax, Accounting or a related field and six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation: utilizing tax research tools including Bloomberg Tax Law Research and BNA Portfolios to conduct research on tax laws and regulations including case laws and tax treaties; drafting tax memos and comments; drafting, reviewing, and negotiating tax language in legal agreements; performing U.S. tax planning, advisory and risk management for financial intuitions, financial products, and capital market transactions; and managing and coordinating with external tax advisors and reviewing their work. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. When not telecommuting, must report to work site. Offered salary is between $292,427 to $292,427 per year. 40 hours per week. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree in one of the above-listed fields and four (4) years of experience in the above-listed skills.
