Description
Our non-profit client in Oakland is seeking in interim hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for a 2+ month engagement. As a CFO, your key responsibilities would revolve around managing financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and overseeing investments. This role entails regular interaction with the board of directors and other senior management members. This is a 100% remote role and expected to pay between $80-$100/hr. DOE.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes
• Manage the organization's cash flow and treasury functions to ensure financial stability
• Engage in strategic financial decisions and provide financial insights to the board and other top management
• Use financial software tools such as Paycom, Sage Intacct, and Concur for financial management and reporting
• Ensure accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and compliance with financial regulations and standards
• Work closely with the Controller and Finance Manager to identify and address financial issues and gaps
• Participate in board meetings and present financial reports and updates
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures that align with the organization's mission and goals
• Manage the organization's investment portfolio to ensure it is aligned with the organization's financial objectives
• Oversee the allocation and expenditure of the organization's resources in line with contractual agreements and program objectives
Requirements • At least 10 years of experience in a high-level financial management role
• Demonstrated experience in the non-profit sector
• Proficiency in strategic planning and execution
• Understanding of budgeting and forecasting
• Skills in cash flow management
• Experience in corporate treasury
• Familiarity with financial software such as Paycom, Concur, and Sage Intacct
• Proven leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field
• Detail oriented accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA) is preferred
• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity
• Ability to strategize and solve problems
• Strong communication and people skills
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
