Licensed practical nurses help care for injured, sick and disabled people. They administer medications, monitor equipment, change dressings, prepare food trays, feed, bathe, massage and dress patients, maintain charts, and take temperatures and pulse rates. Applicant requirements: 18 years old good physical and mental health high school diploma or equivalent demonstrated ability to speak, write, and understand the English language graduate from an approved nursing program, and have 700 nursing theory hours and 700 clinical practice hours approved by the board pass the NCLEX-PN exam Fees: Application: $40.00 Testing: $200.00 Renewal: $60.00 (on or before March 31 of odd years) Late Renewal: $75.00 (between April 1 and June 30 of odd years) Examination: Type: Computerized When: Monday through Saturday Where: Pearson Professional Centers Repeats: 5 year limit to pass the test
