<h3>Occupational Description</h3><br>Substitute Teachers fill in for regular classroom teachers when they are unable to be present due to illness or other circumstances. Substitute Teachers may teach any content area at any grade level requested, and most commonly are not responsible for designing the lesson plans from which they teach.<br><h3>Licensure Requirements</h3><br>Applicants must:1. Have previously held a regular teaching certificate in this or another state;2. Complete the Application for a Nebraska Certificate Form;3. Forward transcripts of all college credits not on file with the Department of Education;4. Pay the application fee;5. Submit to the Nebraska Fingerprinting requirement if the individual has not previously held any Nebraska teaching certificate or has not resided in Nebraska for five or more years preceding the date of application.Licensing requirements for this occupation are subject to change. This requires an additional fee of $50.00, in addition to the regular application fee. <br><h3>Renewal</h3><br>Renewal is required every five years.Licensing requirements for this occupation are subject to change.
