SPEECH PATHOLOGIST ASSISTANT<br><br>Under supervision, assists a licensed Speech Language Pathologist in providing treatment to patients. Is in a state of constant training, which includes Normal processes in speech, language, and hearing; A general overview of disorders of speech, language, and hearing; An overview of professional ethics and their application to the Speech Language Pathology Assistant activities.<br><br>REQUIREMENTS:<br>Be at least 18 years of age, of good moral character, and satisfy education requirements.<br><br>EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:<br>A minimum of sixty (60) college-level semester credit hours in a program of study from an accredited institution that includes general education, as well as technical content. The training program shall also include a minimum of one hundred (100) clock hours of field experience, supervised by a licensed Speech Language Pathologist.<br><br>EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS:<br>None.<br><br>CONTINUING EDUCATION:<br>A minimum of 5 hours per year of approved coursework.<br><br>RENEWAL REQUIREMENTS:<br>Every two years contingent on satisfying continuing education requirements.<br><br>PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS:<br> Tennessee Association of Audiologists and Speech Pathologists (TAASLP)<br>P.O.
