Requirements 1. Must have a minimum 10th grade education. 2. Be a graduate of a cosmetology school and have met training requirements comparable to those set forth in board rules. 3. Must complete no less than 1,600 hours of theory and practical instruction for cosmetology licenses or 1000 hours for hair stylist licenses. 4. Submit proper credentials as required by the board no less than fifteen (15) days before the examination is to be given; 5. Pass a written and practical examination. Continuing Education There are no continuing education requirements for cosmetologists. School Located in Wyoming There are numerous beauty schools located throughout Wyoming. Contact the Wyoming Board of Cosmetology for a listing of licensed schools. License A license is issued by the Wyoming Board of Cosmetology after meeting the requirements of the state. A first year license is issued for one year from the month of acquisition. After that, licenses expire every two years during the licensees month of birth.
